Linking our two sister cities together, the Wabash River is a major part of what makes Greater Lafayette great. It’s an important part of the original settlement of Lafayette, IN, but it’s also an important part of our history all together!
This weekend on Saturday, July 14th, 2018, Lafayette and West Lafayette unite at the Wabash River in order to bring you the Wabash RiverFest. Spreading from one side of the river to the other- Tapawingo Park to Riehle Plaza– the Wabash RiverFest will have fun for everyone!
Wabash RiverFest Activities
The Wabash RiverFest‘s activities list is creative and fun! Let’s start with the kids: bounce houses, face painting, caricature drawings, coloring contests, bicycle rodeos, fishing by the Wabash, canoe races and try-a-canoe classes, pony rides, balloon artists, and more! Kids will for sure have an amazing time with plenty to do at this event. These activities are open to adults too.. As the weight limit permits, of course!
Now that we’ve established that the kids will be entertained, what about the more mature crowd? Food Trucks, corn hole, a Beer Garden, Brewga (a yoga class where you’re welcome to bring your beer), more fitness classes, conservation lessons, canoe and kayak lessons, canoe races, fishing derby, zip-line, rock climbing, and more sound okay?
We told you! This is going to be an awesome time, so be sure to check it out!
