Welcome to Prophetstown State Park!

About Prophetstown State Park

Prophetstown is Indiana’s newest state park. This amazing mixture of ecosystems sit right on the edge of the once dominate Prairie and Eastern Deciduous Forest. This now-a-days gives terrain for hiking through prairie fields, on the river bank where the Tippecanoe River and and Wabash meet, and some wooded area too. This land is rich in history, and it’s just waiting for you to come out and explore it!

Amenities of Prophetstown State Park

There are so many things to do at the park.

You can book a night, or a week, at the full service campground. All camping styles are welcome- tent, pop up camper, full RV, or trailer. There are clean showers and porata-johns on the grounds, a giant playground for your family, a fire pit with an attached grill at every site, and more.

Then, hit the trails! There are miles and miles of trail (paved and unpaved) to hike and explore by foot or bicycle. You’ll find something no matter your skill level.

Look for wild life. Keep your eye peeled for hawks, snakes, prairie quail, turtles, owls, and so much more! Or maybe go fishing at the fishing pond for some blue gill.

The Farm at Prophetstown takes you back to the very beginning (well, to the 1920’s) of one of Indiana’s biggest strengths today- farming. See everything you’d expect to see on a farm and a little more. Horses, cows, chickens, turkeys, and pigs, but also a Model T, antique tractors, and an old farm house are there to explore. They sell farm fresh eggs, in season veggies, and pork and beef raised right there on the farm!

There is a lot of important information on the Native Americans that used to hunt the land where Prophetstown State Park sits today. At each historical sight, there is plenty of information to learn, read, and understand as you navigate the park!

There are plenty of activities on a weekly basis offered by DNR and other environmental organizations. Click here to view a complete calendar! We recommend the Pre-K class that’s full of fun crafts and stimulating, educational conversations on the environment. Octover 1st – November 21 is the “Trail of Scarecrows.” Scarecrows designed by local groups and organizations line the main paved trail that winds through the park. This is a fun event for families as well!

During the summer months, Prophetstown has an awesome aquatic center! Water slides, lazy rivers, and kiddie pools, oh my! We love what this pool has to offer our community! “The Aquatic Center is open Memorial Day through Labor Day. Operating hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Admission is $5 per person, with kids age 3 and younger free.”
