About Bistro 501
Bistro 501 sits in Downtown Lafayette, IN on the corner of Main and 5th St. This area’s one of our favorites for a few reasons: it’s on a beautiful brick road; the Lafayette, IN Farmer’s Market is here on Saturdays May – October; and it’s a brief walk to the Wabash or to some great Lafayette, IN staples (such as McCord’s!). Fun fact: this location actually used to be a Piggly Wiggly grocery store!
The Buckley family owns and operates Bistro 501. “The Buckley’s consist of twin sisters Cheyenne and Theresa, and their mother Mary. Theresa, a long term staff member, manager, pastry chef and retired server/bartender put more than 9 years of love and hard work into Bistro 501 while working for her friends and mentors Gabrielle and Helen Meyer. It is truly as if the restaurant has stayed in the same family. In keeping with the family tradition, Cheyenne and Mary joined the team. Moving from Vermont to become the executive chef, Cheyenne is a force in the kitchen. Her food and menus portray a love for cuisine and for Bistro’s guests that our regulars adore. The menus are refreshed every season with new inspirations and exciting ingredients. Cheyenne is also a beacon to her kitchen staff, who have all pledged so much of their time and energy to her food mission. They will all tell you that this comes with many rewards of tutelage, guidance and growth. Her intuition and creativity is only matched by her masterful ability to coax flavors and warmth from every dish. Mary will meet you at the door with a warm smile and a story. Her place is definitely mingling with Bistro guests: new and established. She has many years in the hospitality industry and has always put the guests needs front and center. This shows when you dine at Bistro and she is at the helm. She is always eager to bend an ear to suggestions, compliments, concerns, or simply hear how you are doing. If you walk in to Bistro 501 you are part of our family before you leave; and she makes sure of that.”
Representing Greater Lafayette, IN on the big screen, Cheyenne appeared on “Guy’s Grocery Games” on the Food Network in 2017.
