Lasting longer than expected, COVID-19 has many parents and students alike throughout the Greater Lafayette, IN area thinking about the best options for the 2020-21 school year. Officially, Gov. Eric Holcomb left final decisions of the “When?” and “How?” schools will open back up to each school district. He states in an address to the the entire state of Indiana that each county and school corporation will decide what the best options are for continuing education and taking care of our students! He, of course, also recommended that each one follow CDC health guidelines to maximize public health!
So far, here’s what we know the for area school district plans and back to school dates. These are all subject to change (even beyond the school year’s beginning!). Please refer to each official document for additional and extended information.

“Indiana schools will be reopening this fall. They will not reopen ‘just like we always have’. The Lafayette School Corporation (LSC) will reopen under the guidelines and recommendations from the Center for Disease Control (CDC), the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) and the Tippecanoe County Health Department (TCHD).
By implementing as many of the the guidelines and recommendations as possible, the LSC believes we can reopen schools with an In Person model. Students, Staff, Parents and Community members will experience new preventive and mitigating measures as they enter our buildings. The new measures are being initiated for the health and safety of every person who enters any LSC building or visits one of LSC’s many events and
Based on the recommendations of national, state, and local health and educational organizations, the Lafayette School Corporation will be offering two (2) educational options for our students and families. They will be: 1) In Person Option or 2) E-Learning Option. One of the options will be selected by the parents during registration.” – ReopenLSC
