All Things New at Columbian Park

New things abound at Lafayette, Indiana’s Columbian Park, and if you know of it already, you know it seriously looks like a different place. The improvements and advancements are quality, creating an entirely new feel to the already beautiful 40 acre inner city park. Classic aspects to the park still exist: the train, diverse and age appropriate playgrounds, and rentable gazebos, etc., but now progress is happening too. Seek and check out these new additions next time you visit Columbian Park in Greater Lafayette, IN! Loeb Stadium Rendering of Loeb Stadium, American StructurePoint The south side of Columbian Park took in some major visual changes and Loeb Stadium is one large culprit of that change! Loeb Stadium was built this past year to bring more baseball to our area. Lafayette Aviators call this new stadium their home as well as little leaguers from our community. The surrounding stoplights, sidewalks, and streetlights also benefitted from this upgrade, completing the look they were going for. It truly is a fantastic addition to Columbian Park, making the south entrance to the park feel luxurious. The 4-H fair means many things to many people. It’s an event that our community looks forward to every year, but it’s so much more. The fair is simply the culmination of a year’s worth of work within the 4-H program. It’s youth development, shaping our next generation of leaders, entrepreneurs, and community members. As a program, 4-H’s mission statement is this: “4-H provides kids with community, mentors, and learning opportunities to develop the skills they need to create positive change in their lives and communities.” And at the fair, here’s everything they’ve worked toward for the year of 2021. So, while you attend for the fun displays, rides, funnel cakes, and lemon shake-ups, remember the proud individuals and families behind each and every animal shown, cake displayed, and lego built.
